Apple Pressing Brings Eastbourne Community To Historic Landmark
The autumn has been welcomed in Eastbourne with the tradition of apple pressing.
Armed with apples from their own trees, the community turned out to use the wooden press at Historic Langney Priory’s dedicated event.
With two ancient orchards at the Priory, it seemed the logical place to resurrect the age-old method of juicing the fruits whilst introducing the community to the what is believed to be Eastbourne’s oldest building.
Following on from the success of this event it, apple pressing now planned to be an annual community fixture at Langney Priory.
